THE HOSPITIUM YORK MUSEUM GARDENS WEDDING

We were delighted to be asked to photograph the wedding of Louise and Ben recently, at the York Hospitium! We were struck by the unique elegance of this venue. A combination of classic architecture with an airy, modern twist- we felt in our element. The Hospitium sits in York’s Museum gardens right in the city centre. York is one of our favourite cities, so it’s always lovely when we get to photograph a wedding there.

Our day began by meeting both Louise and Ben at the Hedley House Hotel. Louise was getting ready with her bridesmaids and mum, and Ben was getting ready with his groomsmen. From Hedley House Hotel the York Hospitium was a stones throw away- so I walked with Ben and his groomsmen over there, while Hollie stayed with Louise. Luckily Hollie could ride in the car with Louise and her dad to the Hospitium, which made for some fun photos.

The ceremony was full of love and laughter and was perfect from start to finish. After the newlyweds exchanged vows, everyone had a quick break and then we all headed outside to take some group photos. This is where we sometimes get to see the closeness of a couple with their friends and family. In one sweet moment, Louise’s grandmother presented her with a horseshoe- which of course we were quick to capture!

The reception , games for the children to play and even a caricaturist arrived to draw rather amusing photos of the guests.

This was actually our last wedding of the year, and what a year it has been for us! Close to 30 weddings and events covered. We’ve travelled throughout the country, from Leicester to Liverpool to provide wedding photography or event photography. We are glad that our final wedding ended up in York at this gorgeous venue. All the very best to Louise and Ben for the future!
