THE GRANGE HOTEL YORK – WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

Documentary Wedding Photographer  |  Yorkshire wedding photographer  |  Hull wedding photographer

I had a wonderful time photographing the lovely wedding of Sam and Wayne in York.

The wedding took place literally the day before the second lockdown in 2020! Talk about the timing just being right!

We consider York to be our second home, so it’s always nice to photograph a wedding here. I believe this was my 30th time being a York wedding photographer.

My day started around 12 when I met Sam at the wonderful The Grange Hotel, which may I add is a fabulous venue. This wedding was a little different to some, as Wayne was going to see his beautiful bride to be prior to the ceremony. This was due to the restrictions/safety put in place by the York Register office. Which absolutely made sense and didn’t ruin the day.

I must say that York Register Office is my favourite. I’ve photographed at so many register offices over the years, and it’s usually a case of hoping and praying the lighting is OK. The York Register Office has a huge skylight that lets in fantastic light into the room, so it’s an absolute win.

From the register office it was back to The Grange Hotel for a small and intimate reception. No first dance was allowed, which is a shame but understandable.

I’ve photographed several smaller weddings throughout these horrible COVID-19 times, and it’s been a difficult experience for everyone. But Sam and Wayne just took it all in their stride, it is what it is, let’s make the best of it!

Massive congratulations to Sam and Wayne on your big day, thank you for choosing me to be your York Wedding Photographer!
