I couldn’t have wished for a more perfect wedding than that of Emma and Alex to roundoff 2021 for me. The wedding was held at the stunning Shotton Grange, Northumberland, a really beautiful part of the country. As a wedding photographer the venue of Shotton Grange couldn’t have been more ideal. Beautiful venue with fabulous surroundings, not to mention the staff were fantastic.

We absolutely love the photos in the gallery and everyone keeps telling us that they are the best wedding photos they have seen! They capture the day perfectly! Emma & Alex

I set off from home the night before the big day. When a wedding venue is over two hours away I like to stay in a hotel close by, better to be safe than sorry. After a good nights sleep I arrived the next day at Shotton Grange for around 11am to meet up with Emma and her bridesmaids.

When I arrived the first thing that I noticed was how relaxed everyone was! I knew right then this would be a good day. Everyone was so friendly and down to earth, it was a dream to photograph.

The Ceremony

The ceremony was held in the Coach House, which is situated next to the Manor House. The coach house has wonderful lighting and perfect to hold a ceremony. The ceremony itself was beautiful and clearly emotional for many of the wedding guests, and you could just see how close knit a family this is.

The Reception

The reception was held in the Coach House once it had been turned around. On the night I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding guests taking part in ceilidh dancing, which is genuinely one of my favourite things to photograph! It’s so much fun, and a great opportunity to capture some great moments.

2021 Was Wild!

2021 for me personally was manic, but a good kind of manic? If that is possible. Two years rolled into one due to the pandemic, then I helped several fellow wedding photographers throughout the year who sadly caught covid. 52 weddings (I usually only photograph 20 max) and then around 10 events with places such as the University of York. Over 80,000 photos edited and delivered, along with a little video. It was wild at times, but I felt incredibly lucky and fortunate.

Goes without saying that I am so happy that all of the couples who had been so impacted by the pandemic finally had their big day! I feel really honoured that I was there to capture them.

Safe to say that 2021 is a year I will never forget, and to finish the year with the wonderful wedding of Emma and Alex was just the icing on the cake. Such a wonderful couple who really couldn’t do enough for me. A huge congratulations to you both, thank you for choosing me!

I would love to hear from you if you’re getting married at Shotton Grange and need a wedding photographer. Please contact me to check dates and details.
