Some weddings just have that special energy — a mix of love, laughter, and the kind of warmth that makes you feel like more than just a vendor. Charlotte and Ben’s wedding was exactly that. From the emotional start to the joyful finish, it was a day I’ll never forget. As a Yorkshire Wedding Photographer, I get to see a lot of incredible days, but this one genuinely felt different.
Getting Ready: The Quiet Beauty Before the Big Moments
The day began with calm excitement as I arrived to photograph Charlotte and her bridal party getting ready. These are some of my favourite moments to capture as a Documentary Wedding Photographer — the laughter, nervous smiles, and that quiet transformation before the magic really begins. The light was perfect, the details were elegant, and Charlotte has to be one of the most chill and happiest brides I have ever photographed!
Brantingham Church: The Ceremony
The ceremony was held at the stunning Brantingham Church in Brough — a picturesque setting with old stone charm and countryside calm. As a Documentary Wedding Photographer, I live for unscripted moments, just to be able to capture everyones reaction as Charlotte walked down the aisle is priceless for me.
The confetti moment just after the ceremony was pure joy — friends and family cheering as Charlotte and Ben walked hand-in-hand beneath a cloud of colour. It’s those small windows of raw happiness that really bring a wedding gallery to life.
Off to Little Wold Vineyard in Style
Following the ceremony, Charlotte and Ben travelled to their reception in true classic style — in a vintage car that looked like it had driven right out of a romance film. That journey from church to vineyard was the perfect breather before the party, and it gave us a chance for some relaxed couple portraits with rolling fields as the backdrop.
Little Wold Vineyard: The Perfect Setting
I have been very lucky to have photographed several weddings at Little Wold Vineyard, it really is a dream venue for any Yorkshire Wedding Photographer. Set amongst the hills of South Cave, it offers views, space, and a beautifully laid-back vibe that suits a candid, documentary approach. Guests mingled on the lawn, drank local wine, and soaked up the sunshine and laughter.
The speeches were heartfelt and hilarious, and the dancefloor? It never emptied. I like to get right into the action and the dancing. At some weddings you hold you breath, will everyone dance? You just never know, but thankfully the venue was literally bouncing.
More Than a Photographer
By the time I packed up my gear, I didn’t feel like just their photographer. I felt like a friend — part of the celebration. That’s what I love most about this job: not just capturing the day, but being immersed in it, unnoticed, catching all the real stuff that makes a wedding feel the way it should.
I genuinely felt like I knew everyone for years! They were so warm and friendly towards me. If I ever wonder why I enjoy 10-12 hour days of wedding photography, I just need to remember Charlotte and Ben’s wedding. It was amazing from start to finish.
