THE LINCOLN STEAM AND VINTAGE RALLY 2019

Documentary wedding photographer  |  Yorkshire wedding photographer  |  Hull wedding photographer

As a family we have some yearly traditions, and one of those is to visit the Lincolnshire Steam and Vintage Rally. Due to the pandemic the 2020 event was cancelled. I just remember us all being so devastated when we heard the news as it’s such a wonderful day out, and something we look forward to.

With the event being cancelled I do believe this is when the impact of the pandemic really hit home for us. Obviously working as a Hull wedding photographer 2020 was utterly devastating, with close to 40 weddings and events all cancelled or moved to later dates.

The Lincolnshire Steam & Vintage Rally is held on the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society’s county showground. The showground is located roughly 4 miles north of Lincoln, and we’ve always found parking not an issue at all. Once inside the showground you can view vintage cars, steam engines, tractors, fairground organs, military vehicles, craft stalls, the list goes on. There’s even a small fairground, and we usually end up riding on the big wheel. As a family we typically spend the entire day there.

When we visited the weather was beautiful and the event is so well organised, with lots of volunteers offering to help. Here’s hoping that the Lincolnshire Steam & Vintage Rally will return in 2021! You can read more about the event and check on dates at the website http://www.lsvr.org

As a working photographer I took along my trusty Sony A7Riii camera, along with the 24-70 f2.8 GM lens. Typically I am a prime lens photographer with two cameras and two different lenses attached, but to photograph this event I wanted to use one camera and one lens.
