Michelangelo: A Different View Exhibition
We had a great time visiting the Hull Minster to view the Michelangelo: A different view exhibition.
The tickets were free and it was a wonderful opportunity to view the Last Judgement masterpiece by Michelangelo that decorates the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican. Many people may never have the opportunity to visit the Sistine Chapel, so being able to view this famous piece of art in digital form was breathtaking.
The Last Judgment masterpiece was certainly central to our visit, but throughout the Hull Minster we could also view further frescoes by various artists such as Botticelli. We found it fascinating to learn how they recreated these famous pieces of art. High resolution photographs were taken and then transferred onto special fabric to give a true to life reproduction.
To make our visit even sweeter the Hull Minster choir were rehearsing, and to our surprise Blake chose to sit and listen, only stepping away when the choir took a break.
The exhibition runs from 8th October to 18th November, and it is certainly worth a visit!
