As a Hull wedding photographer or Yorkshire wedding photographer its always nice when I get to photograph a wedding in my home town, and that was the case for the wonderful wedding of Lisa and Haydn.

The wedding day was actually split between Hornsea and Beverley. Lisa and Haydn got ready in Hornsea, then we all headed over to the Beverley Registry office for the ceremony, and then back to Hornsea Golf Club for the reception. For the first time in years I actually photographed a bride reveal! Lisa and Haydn thought of doing this due the restrictions still in place, and everything went perfectly!

Like many couples the big day had been moved several times due to the pandemic. With every wedding I attend that has been affected by the pandemic and the chaos it has caused, you can just sense the relief and the pure joy to finally get married. This was certainly the case for Lisa and Haydn. It really was a day of pure fun and a whole lot of laughter.

I must mention the visit I took with Haydn and his dad to the Kurdish barber here in Hornsea. I don’t think Haydn’s dad was fully prepared for what took place. Ear hair removed by a flame, yes a flame! And then nasal hair waxing, I’m not sure who had more tears in their eyes, me who couldn’t stop laughing or poor dad! This period of time during the morning really did set the tone for the rest of the day.

A big shout out to the wonderful Woody and Amber from Snaperture who were in attendance to film the wedding. Super talented and super friendly, I absolutely loved working with them on the day.

Over the coming two months I will be photographing and attending over 20 weddings and events. Typically I try to limit my workload to one wedding or event per week, so it’s going to be a real challenge, but one I am fully prepared for. If every wedding has as much love and fun as the wedding of Lisa and Haydn it’s going to be a blast!

All the best to you both, thanks again for choosing me to be your Yorkshire wedding photographer!
