DUNEDIN WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

“We’ve just taken a look and they’re amazing! really, thank you so much for all of your work and how lovely and friendly you were on the day. You’ve really captured it all perfectly and we’re so happy with how they turned out!”

I had a fantastic time photographing the wonderful wedding of Rose and Matthew at Dunedin Country House in Patrington.

As a Hull wedding photographer Dunedin Country House has become almost like a second home for me. It’s a beautiful venue to host a wedding, with beautiful gardens and the staff are just fantastic.

The wedding of Rose and Matthew was a full day for me, which I absolutely love, and I arrived at around 10am. The soon to be husband and wife stayed over night at Dunedin Country House and the rooms were wonderful, so a good chance for me to capture some bridal prep and the groomsmen getting ready.

With the wedding taking place during the pandemic it did mean restrictions were still very strict. Rose and Matthew had to sit throughout the whole ceremony, which also included the guests and even myself. I have become fairly used to this scenario now, so that’s why I always take zooms or a longer focal length lens just in case.

The wedding was taking place on Halloween so every table had little pumpkins, which I thought was a brilliant touch. All of the wedding guests were so welcoming and friendly, and Rose and Matthew were just huge fun to be around. As a wedding photographer you dream of weddings like this, with lots to photograph and the couple just so down to earth.

Being a Hull photographer it’s been a hugely frustrating year, just as it has for so many professionals and even couples. At one point I didn’t photograph a wedding, event, charity or even sport for six months. The wedding of Rose and Matthew reminded me how much I love and miss doing what I do, and it’s good to be back!

A huge congratulations to you both, and all the very best for the future!

* On a side note, for this wedding I also tried my new Sony A9 camera for wedding photography, and let me tell you it is a game changer. I have never used a camera that focuses like the A9, with eye focus and subject tracking I never missed a shot out of thousands of photos! I have used silent shooting for the past couple of years with my Sony A7iii so this wasn’t new to me, but what was new was the fact that banding was a thing of the past! Incredible.
