CRAB AND LOBSTER WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

One of my favourite wedding venues has to be the Crab and Lobster in Asenby, York. I’ve been lucky enough to be the chosen Crab and Lobster wedding photographer, and it really is a wedding photographers dream venue to attend.

The Crab Manor and the Crab & Lobster restaurant is multi award winning, and there’s a good reason for that. The moment you arrive here it’s a feast for the eyes. With beautiful landscaped grounds, fountains, ivy archways and terraces, a grand manor, superb restaurant, and a giant Bigfoot looking at you down the stairs!

Myself and many a Crab and Lobster wedding photographer will say they love outdoor weddings. With the guests having room to walk around and things to do. When you have those elements in a wedding venue it really is magic for a wedding photographer. As a Yorkshire wedding photographer you cannot help but be inspired with creativity the minute you step foot at Crab and Lobster.

My last wedding at the Crab and Lobster was just pure fun, I didn’t want it to end! In fact I stayed for close to 12 in the end. There’s no wonder why I class the venue as one of my favourites.

The wedding started in the stunning Crab Manor with bridal prep. When you first walk up to the manor you are struck by how grand it is. Once inside you are greeted by quirky items everywhere you look. From the giant Bigfoot at the top of the stairs, a giant Russian doll (Matryoshka Doll), a massive clock on the wall, huge face sculptures. It’s like stepping into a wonderland.

The ceremony can be held in two places. Inside if the weather isn’t that great, or outside to the side of the manor. The wedding I attended held the ceremony outside, much to my delight. I had total freedom to walk around at the front and even to the sides and back.

After the ceremony all of the guests then began to mingle and explore the venue. From walking down to the restaurant, exploring the landscaped gardens, or spending some time at the manor. As a Yorkshire wedding photographer I really was in my element. With every corner I turned something was happening.

The reception was held in the Two AA Rosette Restaurant. May I add I was treated to fish and chips by the bride and groom, and its the best fish and chips I have had in years! So a big thank you for that. Once everyone had eaten I would then find guests outside and inside, so the best of both worlds for me. A the reception progressed it was on to the speeches, the cutting of the cake and then the party really got started! I captured some fun photos of the guests letting loose once the music got started.

Crab and Lobster is such a photogenic wedding venue. It’s high up on my list of favourite venues to attend, and I hope to return soon!
